HAPPY SMALA has officially launched the Impact Together! program in Morocco, in partnership with the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), (now Impact Europe), and with financial support from the European Union (EU).
This event, held on October 31 and November 1, 2023, marks the kick-off of the program's activities in Morocco. It brings together major players in social entrepreneurship, impact finance, civil society, and government representatives around a common goal: to strengthen and promote the social economy as a driver of job creation and economic, social, and environmental value in the MENA region.
A strategic event for impact finance
Under the theme “Strengthening impact finance in Morocco,” the launch created a space for exchange and synergy between all stakeholders involved in the development of the social economy.
The main objective of this meeting was to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the emergence of innovative initiatives in order to amplify the impact of social and solidarity-based enterprises in Morocco and beyond.
Focus on the Moroccan Crowdfunding Barometer 2021-2023
Among the highlights of this event, the exclusive presentation of the third edition of the Moroccan Crowdfunding Barometer 2021-2023, led by HAPPY SMALA, attracted particular attention.
This benchmark study analyzes the use of collaborative financing for Moroccan projects on a selection of 10 local and international platforms between July 2021 and August 2023. The barometer highlights:
- the role of crowdfunding as a high-impact financial instrument,
- its ability to mobilize citizen solidarity,
- and its potential as a catalyst for the development of social entrepreneurship in Morocco.
Thanks to this publication, investors, entrepreneurs, and institutional actors have a clear vision of the evolution of collaborative financing, its trends, and its impacts, and can thus better support the growth of projects with a strong social impact.
