HAPPY SMALA organized the Moroccan Impact Finance Forum on October 31, 2024, at the Casablanca Technopark, bringing together key players in impact finance and entrepreneurship from Morocco and the MENA region.
This event was part of the Impact Together! project, implemented in partnership with Impact Europe and funded by the European Union. The goal: to facilitate access to financing for impact businesses and strengthen the capacities of organizations committed to sustainable and inclusive development.
A forum serving the impact ecosystem
Through this initiative, HAPPY SMALA, the project leader in Morocco, confirmed its commitment to financial innovation and support for high-impact entrepreneurs, while strengthening ties with regional players.
The Impact Together! program helps structure and energize the impact finance ecosystem around four main areas:
- Technical and financial support for impact businesses;
- Capacity building for support structures;
- Advocacy for the social and solidarity economy;
- The creation of an impact investment fund to ensure the sustainability of the actions carried out.
Highlights of the Forum
The Moroccan Impact Finance Forum featured several highlights:
- The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Technopark and HAPPY SMALA, formalizing a strategic partnership to strengthen Morocco's entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly in the areas of financing, impact measurement, and capacity building.
- Feedback on the first round of funding for Impact Together!, preceded by the Blended Impact Finance Bootcamp, an innovative initiative bringing together impact entrepreneurs and financiers to explore hybrid financing mechanisms.
- Demo Day, during which entrepreneurs presented their projects to partners and investors, paving the way for new collaborations and investment opportunities.
Ten years of commitment to impact
This forum also marked a symbolic milestone for HAPPY SMALA, which celebrated ten years of promoting innovation, impact finance, and socioeconomic inclusion.
This celebration was an opportunity to look back on a decade of initiatives and successes, while sharing the organization's vision for the future: to continue building a sustainable ecosystem that supports Morocco's economic and social development.
