Crowdfunding in Morocco: 707 campaigns and MAD 6.32 million raised in 2025.
Unveiled during the 2nd edition of the Moroccan Impact Finance Forum (MIFF), the 2025 Crowdfunding Barometer highlights the growth of crowdfunding in Morocco. Produced by HAPPY SMALA in collaboration with IDinsight, the 2025 edition identified 707 crowdfunding campaigns linked to Morocco, raising MAD 6.32 million from nearly 11,000 contributors, confirming the growing interest in this alternative financing mechanism.
The 2025 edition recorded 707 crowdfunding campaigns related to Morocco, which collectively mobilized MAD 6.32 million from nearly 11,000 contributors.
The study also highlights an improvement in campaign performance. For the first time, 30% of the campaigns analyzed reached at least 50% of their funding target, reflecting a stronger understanding of crowdfunding mechanisms among project leaders and increasing engagement from contributor communities.
These results confirm the relevance of crowdfunding as a complementary financing tool for entrepreneurs, associations, citizen-led initiatives, and impact-driven projects, at a time when diversifying funding sources has become a strategic priority for many stakeholders.
An analysis of crowdfunding trends in Morocco
Beyond the key figures, the barometer provides an in-depth analysis of the sector’s evolution, examining fundraising volumes, types of projects financed, platforms used, contributor behavior, and the factors behind successful campaigns.
This edition also sheds light on emerging dynamics within Morocco’s crowdfunding ecosystem, in a context shaped by the gradual implementation of Law 15.18 on crowdfunding and the launch of the country’s first licensed crowdfunding platforms. For the first time, the barometer incorporates data from Moroccan crowdfunding platforms, notably Kiwi Collecte and Akkan Crowdfunding, whose activities reflect the growing momentum of a national ecosystem supported by the new regulatory framework.
The 2025 edition also highlights the completion of a crowdlending operation in Morocco between Wasit, an impact-driven company, and Akkan Crowdfunding, illustrating the gradual diversification of collaborative financing instruments available in the Moroccan market.
An analytical tool serving the ecosystem
Produced in collaboration with IDinsight, the 2025 edition of the Moroccan Crowdfunding Barometer aims to provide entrepreneurs, support organizations, investors, public institutions, civil society organizations, and citizens with reliable and up-to-date data on the evolution of crowdfunding in Morocco.
Beyond the presentation of the Barometer’s findings, the Moroccan Impact Finance Forum (MIFF) also hosted a Policy Dialogue in a World Café format, organized in collaboration with SimSim Participation Citoyenne. This participatory session brought together key ecosystem stakeholders to co-develop recommendations on the implementation of Law 15.18 on crowdfunding. Discussions identified several opportunities to strengthen the collaborative finance ecosystem and support the growth of impact finance in Morocco.
Through this publication, HAPPY SMALA continues its commitment to promoting more inclusive and accessible financing mechanisms while contributing to greater knowledge and stronger structuring of Morocco’s impact finance ecosystem.
